Terry Kinney wraps on first Steppenwolf film “Kubuku Rides” produced with Columbia College

The first Steppenwolf film is in the can.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company co-founder Terry Kinney (“Oz”) has wrapped on the short “Kubuku Rides,” the very first production by Steppenwolf Films and a co-production with Columbia College.

Kinney adapted the script with Doug Bost from Larry Brown’s 1988 short story “Kubuku Rides (This is It),” a domestic drama about the devastating impact of alcoholism on a family.

Brandon Ratcliff and sometime Steppenwolf stage performer Jonell Kennedy reprise their mother-son relationship from Miranda July’s summer indie hit “Me and You and Everyone We Know.”
