Ten local film houses to connect one-on-one with top Hong Kong film mission seeking U.S. partners

Representatives of 10 Chicago film and digital entertainment companies have been selected to meet one-on-one with delegates of a high-level Hong Kong film delegation Oct. 25 during “Hong Kong Day in Chicago.”

The object of the link-up is to “sell Hong Kong companies on our local talent” said Debra Rogers, senior international trade specialist, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, which created the program.

Designated local companies are Starfarm Productions, represented by Jon McClenahan, formerly of Startoons, and Barbara Ferro, formerly with Disney; Digital Kitchen, Don McNeill; Calabash Animation, Shawn Henry; Siskel & Jacobs, John Siskel; There Media, Tom Kwiloz; Eat Your Lunch, Dave Skwarczek

Also: Matt Keepman, Keepman Film Capital;

Flatiron Films, Bob Schneiger and Adam Kashuba, manager, academic administration of CTI/DePaul University.

The private meetings will be held from 2-5 p.m. at Columbia College , following a luncheon for the guests at the school.
