Teamsters Local 727 approve student loan reimbursement

The Trustees of the Teamsters Local 727 Legal and Educational Assistance Fund announced that participants without a break-in-service since November 1, 2022, are now eligible for an educational student loan reimbursement up to $5,250. 

This is a benefit for participants that have not participated in the tuition reimbursement program for their own education. 

This reimbursement is only for participants and does not apply to dependents. In addition to the Student Loan Reimbursement Benefit, the Trustees have also made following Educational Assistance Benefit improvements:

  • The part-time benefit has been increased from $2,500 to $3,500;
  • Spouses are now eligible for the part-time benefit; and
  • Students in a Master’s Program will be eligible for a full-time or part-time benefit, depending on the school’s definition of a full-time and part-time student.
