STIR Post Audio ups Holmes to sound designer / mixer

Stir sound designer / mixer Matt Holmes

STIR Post Audio has promoted Matt Holmes to sound designer/mixer from associate engineer, taking his place beside mixer Amber Tisue.

“Our clients’ response to Matt’s work has been so positive that we decided to make his move up official,” says EP David Kaplan, STIR partner with Mindy Verson and Sonixsphere’s Greg Allan.

“With Matt’s great ears, easy going manner, and technical proficiency, he has become in a very short time an in-demand team member who adds value to our client’s sound design and mixing projects,” Kaplan adds.

Holmes, who has a BS degree in Recording Arts from Indiana University, joined STIR last June and to date has mixed projects for Lay’s, bud Light, Ziploc, Hunt’s Sauces and Hebrew National.

Holmes is also a multi-talent instrumentalist, who plays drums. guitar, bass and piano.  He also mans the drum chair in the indie acoustic band, Valaska, with whom he has recorded two CDs.  He also regularly gigs around Chicago with at the Beat Kitchen and Schuba’s and at Midwest and national venues.

“This opportunity,” Holmes says, “gives me the chance to use my personal sonic toolset to contribute to the success of our client’s projects and working with them from the ground up.

“We all thrive on finding fresh solutions and imaginative approaches for every project that comes through our doors and I look forward to continuing to grow with the company.”

Full-service, award-winning STIR launched in June 2014 with three recording studios in Streeterville and the Theatre District in the Loop.

Current global campaigns include “Life Happens in 5” for Wrigley’s 5 Gum/Energy BBDO; Ford Transit/Team Detroit; US Bank/BSSP and Re-Max/Leo Burnett.
