Star Farms develops new children’s multimedia
media series following “Edgar & Ellen” success

Star Farm Productions, creators of the phenomenally successful “Edgar and Ellen” children’s TV and web series, is developing new properties that also will evolve into multimedia formats.

Star Farm focuses on creative storytelling using print, television and the web to involve children in the creative process.

One of the new properties is “The Kinetics,” a dance, music and humor concept aimed at preschoolers. The pilot debuted last September at MIPCOM, Jr., the international children’s programming market.

“The Kinetics” features a blend of techniques, animated by Toronto-based Yowza Animation, visual effects/3D specialists, and Cuppa Coffee Studios, Canada/NorthAmerica’s largest stop-motion company.

“Twenty-first century kids are consuming media simultaneously,” says Colleen Fahey, SVP marketing. “A kid might be watching television and be on the computer at the same time. The idea here is multiple media entertainment that allows kids to have some participation in adding to the stories.”
