Here’s some news to warm the Chicago production community. And it doesn’t include drinking booze or peeing your pants.

Unless you’re Frank Gallagher.

According to E-Online, Shameless has been renewed by Showtime for a 10th season.

Although star Emmy Rossum (Fiona) is leaving the series at the end of the season, Showtime exec Gary Levine announced in a statement that William H. Macy (Frank Gallagher) and the rest of the brood will be back. Even Cameron Monaghan (Ian), who departed earlier this year.

“The Gallaghers are a force of nature, and they are coming back, Levine said. “Shameless with its ever-growing fan base, is like no other show on television. We are thrilled it will live on with its unique blend of love and larceny on Showtime.

“All of us on Shameless are delighted that we get to tell more wonderful Gallagher stories—and thankful to Showtime for their continued support,” added EP John Wells in a statement. “We can’t wait to get back to work with this extraordinary cast.”

Back in October, Reel Chicago reported that Monaghan had announced his departure on Instagram.

Ian’s final scene on the show found him going to prison and bunking with his ex-boyfriend Mickey (Noel Fisher). Ian will probably escape in Gallagher fashion.

Production on season 10 will begin later this year. Shameless airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
