Selz shoots third horror feature “Satanic Panic”
on HD in northwest Illinois this summer

Marc Selz follows up “The Rockville Slayer” and “Short Cut Road” with his third horror/thriller feature “Satanic Panic” set to shoot in northwest Illinois this summer.

The feature was inspired by the ?80s and early-?90s scare over ritual killings and human sacrifice.

Selz wrote the script with Karl Sundstrom, who composed the score for “The Rockville Slayer.”

“This is some of the most disturbing stuff I’ve ever put on paper,” Selz said. “Whether it happened or not, that will be up to the audience to decide.”

Selz described “Panic” as a synthesis of the “satanic and slasher genres,” and plans the film as a stylistic throwback to slasher trailblazers like the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Friday the 13th.”

“This is going to be a hardcore horror film, not for the weak-hearted,” Selz said. “Horror fans will hopefully get what they want.”

Selz and a group of private investors are financing the “under-$1 million” budget through Marc Selz Productions LLC.

The HD shoot is scheduled to start in mid-August and run for 25 days in Elizabeth and East Dubuque, Illinois, the same area where Selz made his first two films.
