See who profited from 2016 Olympics work

HERE’S WHERE ALL THE MONEY WENT. Remember our outrage about a year ago when the Chicago 2016 Olympic went on a shooting spree to make visual presentations to the International Olympics Committee in the hope of being the Olympics city six years hence?

And remember how the Chicago 2016 Committee bypassed all but a few Chicago talents and brought in bi-coastal directors to direct those presentations?

And how the Committee, in the form of their ad agencies, twisted arms of local vendors to provide their services and equipment “voluntarily,” i.e., without compensation?

Not everyone, however, as you will see, gave their services as “willingly” to the cause. In fact, Chicago 2016 paid $5.9 million in salaries and benefits to 13 executives, according to a recent Sun-Times report.

Five top contractors who benefited included Ogilvy & Mather ($1.2 million for website design and maintenance); Hill & Knowlton ($1.17 million for communications consulting); ProActive, A Freeman Company ($641,339 for event production); DeMarsh Construction ($452,129); and RSA Films, Inc. ($407,481) for film production.

But hey, isn’t that the Chicago Way.
