Season 4 of The Bear premieres today, June 25, with all 10 episodes dropping at once on FX on Hulu at 7 p.m. CT. Set and filmed entirely in Chicago, the award-winning drama continues to shine a spotlight on the city’s culinary culture and the emotional chaos inside a fine-dining kitchen.
Created by Christopher Storer and co-showrun with Joanna Calo, The Bear follows Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef who returned to run his late brother’s sandwich shop, transforming it into an ambitious fine-dining destination. Season 4 picks up immediately after the tension-filled events of Season 3, with the team grappling with critical reviews, internal conflicts, and personal milestones.
Filmed at various Chicago locations—including Avondale, River North, and Pilsen—the series showcases the city as a living, breathing part of the story. Returning cast members include Ayo Edebiri as Sydney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie, Abby Elliott as Sugar, and Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Carmy’s mother Donna, appearing in a pivotal family episode that includes Sugar’s wedding.
“With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome,” according to the FX official synopsis. “This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better — it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to.”
As the restaurant faces increasing pressure, Carmy doubles down on perfectionism, Sydney faces a partnership decision, and Richie continues to search for purpose. The season also expands on Tina’s leadership and emotional growth, while behind the scenes, cast members Edebiri and Lionel Boyce step into writing roles for the first time.
With intense performances, Chicago grit, and a full-season binge format, The Bear continues to cement its reputation as one of TV’s most compelling dramas. Season 4 of The Bear is now streaming on FX on Hulu and Hulu via Disney+.
