JOHN PIERSON, the noted indie film rep will be in Chicago on a rare visit with equally notable local filmmaker Steve James, to tell their experiences filming “Reel Paradise” at an IFP/Chicago screening Sept. 21.

“Reel Paradise” documents how the Pierson family went to Fiji in search of “the world’s most remote movie theatre,” and ran the 180 Meridian Cinema, showing free movies to the locals.

Pierson, who discovered Spike Lee and repped his earliest films, and his wife created “Split Screen,” the IFP cable show.

At Film Row Cinema, Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash, 7:30 p.m. Free for IFP members.
