SCC helps GUM and SOLO stand out with new campaigns

SCC

Schafer Condon Carter (SCC) is flexing its creative muscle with the launch of two national campaigns that elevate everyday brands into unforgettable moments. The independent Chicago-based agency is behind fresh work for GUM, a Sunstar brand, and SOLO, tapping into cultural truths and challenger-brand swagger to break through the noise.

GUM Gets Real with Whole-Body Wellness

The new campaign for GUM flips the traditional script on oral care. Forget just whitening — SCC leans into the message that “A Healthy Body Needs GUM,” spotlighting the connection between oral hygiene and total wellness. Rolled out in May across digital, CTV, and social, the campaign features high-intensity workouts by powerful female athletes, aiming to reach wellness-first consumers who treat oral health as part of their fitness routine. Take a look below:

“We wanted to reframe oral care as essential, not cosmetic,” said Craig Miller, SCC’s Chief Creative Officer. “This is about purpose-driven messaging with bite.”

Matt Maurer, U.S. Market GM for GUM, echoed the sentiment: “SCC brought a smart, strategic lens that helped us tell a much bigger story — one that puts oral care on par with clean eating and working out.”

“SOLO or Nothing” Puts the Iconic Red Cup Front and Center

On the flip side, SCC’s new campaign for SOLO reminds everyone there’s simply no substitute. “SOLO or Nothing” is built on a bold truth — if your backyard BBQ or lemonade stand isn’t rocking those iconic red cups, is it even legit? With witty spots that include a scene-stealing labrador and clean, confident visuals, the campaign hits across digital and social. Watch below:

“There’s no need to overthink it — SOLO owns its space,” said Miller. “The campaign is playful, iconic, and full of that red-cup energy.”

Kim Healy, SVP/GM of Consumer Products for SOLO, added, “SCC nailed the balance between nostalgia and relevance. This campaign makes the brand feel as essential as ever.”

SCC’s Hot Streak Continues

The dual launches follow a big first half of the year for SCC. The agency recently snagged both a regional and People’s Choice ADDY for its witty, long-running billboard work for Old National Bank on Chicago’s Kennedy Expressway. They also took home three Tellys, including a Silver for Fusion Academy’s “Her Day” and Bronze nods for Illinois Central Management Services and Old National Bank.

Oh, and that Kennedy billboard? Recently celebrated the election of Pope Leo XIV with lines like:
“Deep Dish. Now available in Rome.” Because of course it did.

SCC continues to prove that when it comes to crafting campaigns with punch, presence, and personality, they’re anything but ordinary.
