“Rooftop Wars” wins $100,000 IFP Fund

The 2008 winners of IFP/Chicago’s Production Fund, writer/director Miguel Silveira and producer Andrew Eick of Pangea Media Productions, are in preproduction on their short film, which they’ll shoot this summer with their $100,000 prize of in-kind goods and services.

“Rooftop Wars” tells the story of Dionisio, a Mexican-American boy who runs away from a neighborhood parade to engage in the titular battle.

“The film intends to promote a better understanding between Americans of different origins and investigate the constant ?state of war’ present in American culture,” said Eick.
