“DRUNK BOAT” DIRECTOR Bob Meyers and DP Lisa Rinzler are due back in Chicago in July to color correct with I-Cubed’s Mike Matusek. The indie film was filmed in Super 16 last summer and edited in France, home of star and producer John Malkovich.

Kudos to line producer Christine Varotsis who worked very hard to keep the project going here after principal photography wrapped.

COMMA MUSIC is getting set to open a separate sound design division called Particle in the few weeks. Meanwhile, composer Bryan Rheude and business manager Maria Fletcher are in France attending the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival.

GOVERNOR BLAGOJEVICH ENTERTAINED the recent joint AFTRA/SAG meetings with “some anecdotes, jokes and a little politicking as well,” reports an attendee. Although the gov arrived an hour late, the actors gave him “thunderous applause and at least three standing ovations.” As for the politicking, he said “it was his personal goal to see the recently enacted tax incentives become permanent.”

He also mentioned the possibility of the Steve Dahl movie, “Disco Demolition” and a Vince Vaughn Christmas movie, “Joe Claus,” filming here this year.

NATIONAL AICP will initiate a program to help spot producers take advantage of new and enhanced (like Illinois’) incentives, the board determined at its semi-annual meeting in New York.

The AICP intends to hold bi-coastal seminars and develop a producers’ user guide detailing how producers can take full advantage of tax credits and other incentives. Or they can just talk to Story’s Mark Androw .

IS THE ONE SECOND RADIO SPOT on its way? Clear Channel says it’s only trying to find new uses of radio “with touchpoints that are new and surprising,” said SVP/creative Jim Cook for the radio giant, and the Blinks one-second concept could be one of those ways.
