it’s like to work
in a real-life
haunted house

Girl on the Third Floor is getting an all-around thumbs-up from the built-in fan base that comes with a horror film starring a professional wrestler.

The horror aspect begins with the shooting location: a house in the far flung Chicago exurbs that has earned a real-life reputation for being haunted by people who were murdered there.

The star power comes from Phil Brooks, who spent much of the early 2000s developing an enormous fan base along the way as WWE champion CM Punk, a handsome, straight edge, camera-ready, anti-corporate badass with a lot of tattoos.

In the film, the house becomes a murderous instrument of vigilantism that wants to kill Brooks’ character, Don Koch, a chauvinistic jerk who just cannot seem to stop acting like a chauvinistic jerk.

It also spooked several members of the cast, including Brooks and writer/director Travis Stevens, both of whom described their willies to Reel Chicago.
