Ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Here’s some ideas

Sláinte. Easier to pronounce after a few green beers

It’s St. Patrick’s Day. You’re in Chicago. Does it really matter what percentage of Irish you have running through your blood? Uh No. Word is St. Patrick wasn’t even Irish!

Wear green. Drink green. Check out the green river. Watch the parade. Bar crawl. Corned Beef and Cabbage anyone? Oh and if you really want to celebrate. Check out what’s going on today at these venues.

The attraction recently underwent an extensive redevelopment, which encompasses the attraction’s lower level, delivering a brand-new interactive museum that celebrates the unique personality, history, neighborhoods, and sites of Chicago.

Enjoy Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities to its fullest and book a staycation at Swissotel Chicago, an award-winning luxury hotel overlooking the famous Chicago River Dyeing and just steps away from the St. Patrick’s Parade Route. Sleep in as much as possible and stay warm in the comfort of your own hotel room while taking in the Chicago River Dyeing from above. Capture the best Instagram shot of river and enjoy in-room breakfast such as Crab Cake Benedict, Steak and Eggs, Lobster Omelet and more from The Palm, located in the hotel’s lobby, before bundling up and heading out to the parade, just steps away from the hotel.

Come celebrate the luck of the Irish like a true Chicagoan at Sofitel Chicago, located in the heart of the lively Gold Coast neighborhood. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Sofitel Chicago will be offering an exclusive menu with delicious Irish-inspired dishes and cocktails at Le Bar from March 10-19, 2023. Featured menu items include Reubens and Basque Glazed Wings, plus all the tasty shareables and entrees on the menu. Additionally, no St. Patrick’s Day festivity is complete without Irish cocktails, and luckily, Sofitel Chicago will be offering Whisky Sours, Tipperary Cocktails, Dubliners, and Black Velvets. Weather permitting, Sofitel Chicago will also open its expansive patio, La Terrace, following the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday, March 11, 2023 for guests to continue the celebrations outdoors. Reservations can be made for parties up to six through Tock.

But who am I kidding. If you are a real Irish-them/they you’ve been drinking green beer for several days, since the genuine celebration of St. Patrick’s Day kicked off on March 12th on the south side of Chicago.

Here’s a look at last year’s parade.

Now that’s Irish. How would I know? Because I’m a 100% Irish girl from the south side of Chicago. Sláinte!
