Radio Bob’s life and legacy to be celebrated in Chicago on June 26

Radio bob

Bob Monachino, better known to many as “Radio Bob,” was more than a beloved figure in the world of music and sound design — he was a one-man resort of good vibes, joy, and sonic magic. Known for his decades of work with Earhole Studios, his memorable laugh, his sharp creative ear, and his famously chill energy, Bob built a career and a life that brought people together.

Now, his Chicago family is doing the same.

On Thursday, June 26, friends, family, and longtime collaborators will gather to raise a glass, share stories, and celebrate the life and legacy of Radio Bob in true Bob fashion — with music, joy, and a little bit of mischief.

Bob’s work was part of the sonic backbone of Chicago’s ad world. At Earhole, he lent his talents to countless campaigns, earning a reputation not only for his technical chops but for creating a studio environment that felt like home. When you worked with Bob, you didn’t just get clean audio — you got storytelling, empathy, and probably a couple of cold ones.

As a nod to the name he gave his home studio — Radio Bob Resort — this memorial invites all to gather where it’s always happy hour. Expect laughter, maybe a few tears, and definitely some solid tunes.

Bob is deeply missed, but on June 26, his Chicago crew will make sure his spirit resonates loud and clear.
