Chicago based Quriosity Productions just dropped a trailer for the video game Sea of Dawn starring Johnny Depp.
The “trailer” shows more like a short film featuring Depp as a vision impaired shopkeeper who distracts a bill collector (Francisco Rodriguez) with an elaborate and extensive story about the adventures he’s had on the seas.
It leaves us craving to see more as Depp puts life into what is clearly a new character for him. He discusses how he prepared for the shoot in Quriosity’s behind the scenes footage below.
Sea of Dawn is a new free land and sea exploration massively multiplayer online game from Chinese gaming company Chang you set against the backdrop of the Great Voyage, where players discover the age of the adventurer with the most pioneering men in the history of mankind. The game has launched first in China on mobile and PC platforms, with a rollout in the U.S. and Europe slated for later this year.
The trailer was filmed under wraps in the Dominican Republic. Qadree Holmes of Quriosity is one of the executive producers working in conjunction with Infinitum Nihil, and Too Caribbean. Quriosity’s Margie Ayala is Senior Producer.
Holmes is the Founder/Executive Producer of Quriosity Productions; a minority owned creative diversity boutique, based in Chicago with offices in Los Angeles, specializing in video production, post production and photography. Quriosity tapped into their LA based talent with David Maurice Gil directing.
