Power Book IV: Force, Tommy’s Back

Power Book IV: Force, Season 2, Episode 1 titled Tommy’s Back has made a gripping entrance, setting the stage for what promises to be an enthralling season. Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) is back in action in Chicago, fueled by a desire for vengeance following Liliana’s (Audrey Esparza) tragic death.

The episode opens with the aftermath of a brutal conflict between rival factions: the Serbians and the Four Horsemen, led by the enigmatic Diamond Sampson (Isaac Keys). This violent clash has left deep scars, both physical and emotional, on the criminal underworld. Lives hang in the balance, including that of Walter Flynn (Tommy Flanagan) and his family.

Tommy is still grappling with the loss of Liliana and is determined to seek retribution. This leads him on a relentless pursuit of the Flynn family, who are in hiding after the shootout. The Flynns are not only at odds with Tommy but also internally divided, with Claudia (Lili Simmons) and Vic Flynn (Shane Harper) conflicting with their father. Walter faces the daunting task of reconciling the deaths of the Dublin men he enlisted to eliminate Tommy, a mission that ultimately failed. On the other hand, Vic and Claudia are trying to join forces to overthrow their father and regain their foothold in the city’s drug trade. However, Claudia’s rash actions, including the premature killing of their chemist, strain their partnership, leading Vic to reconsider his allegiance.

Meanwhile, the feud between Diamond and Jenard (Kris D Lofton) remains alive and well. In the previous season’s finale, Diamond compelled Jenard to split the CBI territory in Chicago, but their rivalry is far from resolved. The two crews’ interactions with their drug supplier, Miguel, reveal stark differences in their levels of organization and readiness. Jenard seeks an extension on funds for a product re-up, while Diamond and Tommy arrive prepared with cash to secure their own supply. The episode concludes with federal investigators identifying Tommy Egan and connecting him to his New York past.

The episode underscores the theme of relentless pursuit of power and survival in Power Book IV: Force. As alliances shift and unexpected twists unfold, the series continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling storytelling, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this gripping tale of crime, loyalty, and betrayal.
