“Postales” feature shot near Machu Pichu

JOSH HYDE’s feature debut “Postales,” produced by IFP/Chicago president Claire Connolly and PJ Fishwick, has its world premiere June 25 in the Edinburg International Film Festival.

It’s the story of an 11-year-old Peruvian postcard vendor and his connection to a girl whose developer father is robbed by the boy’s brother.

Shot in Cuzco, Peru near Machu Pichu, “Postales” stars a mix of Peruvian and American actors. Alan Cuba, Guimel Soria Martine, Megan Tusing, Nadia Alexander, Ed Trucco. DP is Dan Fischer.

“Postales” was a selection of the IFP Independent Film Lab. Hyde’s 2005 short “Chicle” based on the same story won awards at the Chicago, Hamptons and Black Maria film festivals.

The filmmakers are raising $10,000 on IndieGogo to pay for a JPEG 2000 print of “Postales,” as well as travel and marketing costs. See
