Chicago-based entertainment and branded media company Pigeon Roost has signed Jake Brusha and Julie to its directorial roster.
Brusha and Julie will work on commercials and branded content for the company, which boasts offices in Memphis, Los Angeles, and Athens, Greece in addition to its original Windy City headquarters.
The announcement was made today by co-founder and Executive Producer Ryan Andrej Lough.
“Julie has a very precise and meticulous style that differentiates itself from the over saturated media landscape, while Jake, who is also a DP, has a very smooth technique that stands out for its beautiful and well-crafted approach,” he says. “I know that our clients will enjoy working with them because they’re already in high demand.”

Jake is a Director/DP with deep roots in the Chicago and Greater Midwest ad world. As a Chicago area native, he has directed and shot numerous high-profile branded projects within the last couple years, across many categories, with friends at Leo Burnett, FCB, et al. He has recently completed campaigns for Choose Chicago and United Healthcare, and now with Pigeon Roost, Jake has recently directed a successful McDonald’s & Amazon Alexa campaign with Golin.
Jake’s work is beautifully crafted, and he excels in the realms of Lifestyle, Travel, Adventure/Outdoor, Documentary/Real-People, and CPG. Jake is a savvy visual storyteller, a well-educated tea-lover, and has a beautiful head of long, flowing hair. The Pigeon Roost family welcomes this gifted director and classic gentleman into the fold.

Julie
Julie is a Munich-based Director who has recently made a splash in the US market. Pigeon Roost signed Julie in November, and within days, Julie and Pigeon Roost were awarded a massive national campaign with Redbox, filmed on-location in Los Angeles. The Redbox national campaign goes live in 2020, and Julie’s distinct visual style, and brilliant subtle comedy has already begun to attract other clients in the Midwest and West Coast for 2020.
Julie is fluent in English, French, and German, and works in the US, European, and Latin American markets. Her client list includes Polaroid, Redbox, Mobil Oil, Toyota, and Intel. Julie’s visual style is memorable, fresh, and highly original in the current climate of dense media saturation. And her ability to pull subtle comedic and expressive moments with actors is unparalleled.
