Picture Show Films hires first ‘relationship manager’

Picture Show Films, Jamie Fleischel and Matt Leonard’s 13-year old family-owned company whose diverse productions span The Onion A.V. Club, Mercedes Benz, Allstate and a Catholicism Study Program, hired Laura Morrison Glenn as its first “relationship manager.”

“It was time to create awareness for our company,” Fleischel says in introducing Glenn, a former FCB veteran of 17 years; 13 years in production and four as VP/creative recruiter scouting and bringing talented creatives into the agency.

Glenn stepped out of the workforce for several years to raise her family.  Missing the business, she talked to a career consultant, a former FCB HR executive and friend, who connected her with Picture Show Films.

Laura Glenn“We didn’t want to hire a sales person, per se,” says Fleischel, “but rather a ‘connector,’ someone who could talk effectively about us, to build relationships with agencies and clients to help fuel our future growth.”

Given her extensive agency experience, Glenn feels her new job is tailor-made for her.

Picture Show Films has a staff of six and works out of a 3,200-sq. ft. studio, with editing and audio facilities, in the West Loop at 328  N. Jefferson.

It produces commercials, feature-length broadcast docs, brand and corporate films and original online series.
