‘Ordinary Joe’ has begun filming in Chicago

A line of production vehicles stretched for a quarter-mile on Ravenswood Ave. in Chicago, where scenes for the upcoming NBC drama Ordinary Joe were being filmed this week.

Written by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner, the series is scheduled to premiere in 2021. It stars James Wolk as Joe Kimbrough, and explores three parallel lives after ordinary Joe makes a pivotal choice at a crossroads in his life, and asks the question of how different life might look if you made your decision based on love, loyalty or passion.

James Wolk is known for recurring characters in TV series like “Watchmen,” “Goliath,” and “Mad Men,” where he inspired speculation about the alleged secret life of his character, account exec Bob Benson, during the sixth season.

Also starring are Charlie Barnett (“Men in Black 3,” “Chicago P.D.”) and Natalie Martinez (“The Fugitive,” “Kingdom”).
