Optimus expands graphics department, adds Daly

OPTIMUS ADDED MATT DALY as visual effects director Jan. 18, as part of its graphics department restructuring. He’d been Digital Kitchen’s visual effects director.

One of Daly’s main responsibilities will be accommodating increased client requests for an effects specialist on the set.

Services have been expanded to include advanced design, 3D/CGI animation and graphics.

Partner Glen Noren heads the nine-person graphics department; Mike Ciacciarelli leads the internal design group and Daly, who says he plans to expand his department, visual effects. Optimus employs 75.

Daly has more than 10 years experience in CGI modeling, animation and lighting, working with such clients as Budweiser, Esso, Orbitz, Quikrete and Herman Miller. He has a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago.
