Ogilvy, Optimus want us to “Stand By Our Mail”

(Reel Ad of the Week)

The U.S. Postal service has gotten a lot of shit over the last few months from Planet Trump.

The President criticized plans to fund the USPS in preparation for mail-in voting and said “if we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money… That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting.”

Trump also predicted to his cult — falsely — that mail-in voting would lead to massive voter fraud in the November election, which is finally here.

Sooooo, USPS finally had a non-partisan reply from Ogilvy and client StandByYourMail and it’s our REEL AD OF THE WEEK.

“We wanted to encourage Americans to support the USPS and the men and women who work tirelessly to deliver our mail, no matter the conditions. Its future truly depends on us,” says Samantha Gorelik, creative director at Ogilvy Chicago told Muse by Clio.

Called Creed, the spot is an emotional grassroots reimagining of the Post Office creedo, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”

The voices of different Americans provide the voiceover, designed to illustrate that the problems affect all—not just Republicans or Dems. Watch below:

Talented and amped up editor Randy Palmer, added, “We are proud to have been a part of this powerful campaign with our partners at Ogilvy.  There is no more important civic duty than voting,  and no more crucial government entity than the USPS. We need to change the current of the current Sea of F**kery!”

It’s this kind of passion and talent that makes this our Reel Ad of the Week.

Vote.
