Nick Celozzi and partners’ studio ramping up for non-stop production, including a DeNiro feature

Less than a year after three onetime Chicago actors launched their Chicago Motion Picture Studios (CMPS), they’re co-producing “20% Fiction,” with Robert De Niro as executive producer.

L.A.-based Nick Celozzi is a producer and his CMPS Chicago partners, Tony DeGuide and Nick Kanari, are co-producers of the dramatic comedy that shoots in L.A. in April and May.

The story about a disenchanted L.A. acting coach who seeks fulfillment in small town life was written by Barry Primus, DeNiro’s longtime acting coach, who will direct. Val Kilmer will star.

Celozzi, whose early acting career has shifted into filmmaking, is also co-writing and will co-produce a mini-series, “Momo,” about Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana for Warner Bros.

Production is scheduled for summer/fall 2008.
