STIR Post Audio’s new mixer Nick Bozzone is from LA

STIR mixer Nick Bozzone from LA

When STIR Post Audio was looking for a third audio mixer they wanted a professional who had worked in a different environment, as executive producer/partner Mindy Verson put it.

And Nick Bozzone exactly met the requirements, with his predigious LA experience in audio for features, TV shows, commercials, games, music and internet.

The California native of a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains started his new job Sept. 8, alongside Amber Tisue, another LA transplant and Matt Holmes.

Adding award-winning Bozzone deepens Stir’s capabilities, says David Kaplan, executive producer/partner (with Mindy Verson and Greg Allan) “and offers another superstar choice to our clients.”

Bozzone comes to the Heartland after a decade of sound mixing at now-defunct POP Sound in Santa Monica.  When POP was acquired by larger feature post specialist Formosa Group in August, 2014, Bozzone was one of six POP engineers, out of 20 employees, to remain with the new company.

Bozzone’s resume of national advertisers includes numerous Super Bowls and Monday Night Football spots, Special Olympics, NFL, 7Up Walmart, Burger King, Toyota, Taco Bell and Mattress Firm, for which he mixed 15 to 20 radio and TV spots every two weeks for years.

He also has recorded actors such as Jim Carrey, Reese Witherspoon, Martin Sheen, Sam Elliott, Arnold Schwarzenegger, among many others, for their roles in features and TV shows.

He recently recorded Harrison Ford narrating “The Age of the Airplane” documentary, mixed Ridley Scott’s short film “Iris,” and has handled recording services for a dozen Moby video games.

Verson says they had been looking “for a really long time” for a third mixer and Bozzone suited their requirement for a professional who had worked in a different environment “and would reinvent the Stir model.”

“Nick flew in and met with us and we really liked him.  He’s a wonderful guy, extremely talented, and we know he will fit in extremely well with the community.”

Moving to Chicago wasn’t all that big a stretch for Bozzone.   His wife, Shannon, is a Shaumburg native and a property manager for a global high rise firm and he has been a Chicago area visitor many times.

The Bozzones and their dog have settled into a home in Darien, rather than the city, to make it easier for Shannon Bozzone to commute to her new job.

Adds partner Greg Allan, “We look forward to a bright future together.”
