New space for high-def post facility Chicago HD

CHICAGO HD, the editing and post house co-owned by editor Steve Panning and engineer Gary Chang, has moved into 5,500-sq. ft. of new space at 1 E. Erie St, in the synergistic complex of Filament Editing and Bam Studios.

Chicago HD’s new high-def digital color correction suite is manned by independent color finishing expert Bob Sliga.

The company offers the full gamut of “strictly post?editorial and conversions,” says Panning. “We’re set up to handle the HD needs of other post houses as well as those of our own clients.” New investments are a Panasonic D5 HD mastering machine, a Sony 24-inch HD digital CRT monitor, and Final Touch HD color finishing software.

Chicago HD offers a range of high-def post production solutions bridging the gap between the worlds of HD and standard definition.

Their first project at the new address was color correction of an indie film, “Cast in Gray,” finished in 1080/24p and mastered to HDCAM and D5. Phone, 312/951-9610.
