“Let’s Create New Media in Chicago” is a fast-growing meet-up group convening every other month that provides a setting to learn from one another and collaborate on new media projects.
Let’s Create was founded by producers Gregg Jaffe, Tim Jahn and video game artist Sean McMenemy as a way “to bring together people who are looking for community,” McMememy says.
Its next meeting takes place Tuesday, March 23 at Ascend Training at 6 p.m., and it’s free and open to beginners and professionals dealing with every aspect of new media production and content.
“We gather the creative folks of Chicago, put them all in one room, and watching the creativity flow,” says Jahn, who produces the popular “Beyond the Pedway” video interviews.
“I’ve seen lots of collaboration of people who didn’t know each other. The cog is working. It’s growing people’s work base,” said writer/actor Jill Dondu who recently joined the team to assist with event planning.
