As the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks gear up for their preseason games, the city’s newest sports broadcasting platform, Chicago Sports Network (CHSN), is preparing to make its debut on October 1.
This new network will become the official home for Chicago’s beloved teams, including the Bulls, Blackhawks, and White Sox, taking over from NBC Sports Chicago, where these teams were previously showcased.
CHSN will be accessible for free over-the-air on Channels 62.2 and 62.3, although final details regarding availability on streaming services and cable packages have yet to be confirmed. To build anticipation, the network recently launched a promotional campaign featuring a CHSN delivery truck making its way through Chicago, with cameos by local sports icons such as Benny the Bull, Ozzie Guillen, and Jim Cornelison. The ad emphasizes the network’s message: “Chicago sports now has a new home. Yours.” Watch below:
Despite some reservations about the somewhat generic network name, “Chicago Sports Network,” the advertising campaign has been well-received for its creativity. CHSN’s launch aligns with the preseason schedules of both the Blackhawks (starting September 25) and the Bulls (beginning October 8), leaving the network little time to solidify its infrastructure and audience.
As the launch date approaches, fans are eager to see how CHSN will shape up as Chicago’s new go-to destination for sports broadcasting.
