NBC’s One Chicago crossover event: A must-watch Wednesday night

After over 5 years of waiting, the One Chicago crossover event is finally here! This Wednesday, January 29, 2025, NBC is uniting the heroes of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. for a thrilling three-hour television experience. The night is set to deliver heart-pounding action, emotional drama, and all the character connections fans have come to love.

The evening kicks off at 7c with Chicago Fire, where the story begins with a devastating gas explosion in a high-rise building. The explosion plunges the city into chaos, leaving countless victims trapped and in desperate need of rescue. At 8c, Chicago Med takes over as the skilled medical team at Gaffney Medical Center works tirelessly to save lives, including one of their own. Finally, the night concludes at 9c with Chicago P.D., where the team faces an intense and dangerous mission to bring everyone home safely.

Bringing together the casts of all three shows for such an ambitious event required immense coordination, as noted by Anastasia Puglisi, executive producer of the One Chicago franchise. “Putting together what is essentially a three-hour action movie is an incredibly ambitious task. It’s a team effort from our writers, casts, crews, and even the city of Chicago itself,” Puglisi shared.

This crossover delivers some of the most gripping moments in recent One Chicago history. Chicago Fire‘s Lieutenant Kelly Severide, played by Taylor Kinney, races against time to save his wife, Lieutenant Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), who is trapped underground with Chicago P.D.’s Adam Ruzek played by Mayo’s real life best friend, Patrick John Flueger. Meanwhile, Chicago P.D.‘s Sergeant Trudy Platt, portrayed by Amy Morton, suffers critical injuries during the explosion and is rushed to Chicago Med’s Gaffney Medical Center. Her husband, Chicago Fire‘s Mouch (Christian Stolte), waits anxiously by her side, hoping for good news. Adding to the tension, Chicago P.D.‘s Sergeant Hank Voight, played by Jason Beghe, leads his team through one of their toughest missions, knowing that two of their own are among the missing.

Fans can look forward to some of the franchise’s most emotionally powerful performances yet. From Severide’s determination to save Stella to Voight’s relentless drive to protect his team, the crossover promises moments that will tug at your heartstrings and keep you glued to the screen.

LaRoyce Hawkins, who plays Officer Kevin Atwater on Chicago P.D., gave fans something to get excited about, saying, “I feel it is the best crossover yet.” Hawkins’ statement only heightens the anticipation for a night that promises to be unforgettable.

LaRoyce gave us an easter egg saying, “I can’t say much but there is one thing, ‘watch for the reference to Al Capone.'”

Make sure to watch live on NBC or stream the event the next day on Peacock. To fully experience the interconnected storyline, fans are encouraged to follow the broadcast order: Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. This unforgettable event is more than just television — it’s a celebration of the characters and stories that have captured the hearts of fans around the world.
