Motion promotes Erica Harouff to VP, Head of Account Services

Motion, a Chicago-based woman-owned, full-service integrated marketing communications agency, announces the promotion of Erica Harouff to Vice President, Head of Account Services. In this newly created position, Harouff will lead the agency’s Account Services department, further enhancing the agency’s ability to deliver exceptional client service and strategic support as it continues to expand.

“Account Services is the constant connection — we can be that crucial bridge between clients and our internal departments,” said Harouff. “This role gives me the chance to enhance those relationships and help grow both our clients and our agency.”

Harouff’s promotion comes at a pivotal moment for Motion which experienced an impressive 46% growth between 2023 and 2024 driven in part by successful acquisitions in both Chicago and Cincinnati as well as an expanding client roster. As the agency continues this upward trajectory, Harouff and the Account Services department will help to ensure that positive client connections remain at the core of Motion’s success.

“As Motion grows, it’s critical to have a leader who can manage the increasing complexity of our client engagements while ensuring our team operates cohesively,” said Kimberly Eberl, Motion’s CEO and Founder. “Erica’s ability to bridge the gap between client needs and creative execution makes her the ideal fit for this new position.”

Harouff brings nearly 15 years of agency experience to the role, with a focus on healthcare and a track record of fostering strong, long-term client relationships. Since joining Motion in 2022, she has played a vital role in stabilizing client teams, driving cross-departmental collaboration, and overseeing successful integrations following Motion’s recent acquisitions.

“Having someone like Erica at the helm creates clarity and structure,” said Thea Rooks, Motion’s Chief Operating Officer. “Her ability to understand both sides—client demands and agency delivery—will improve how we collaborate and innovate.”

Harouff is eager to embrace this challenge, noting that it is not only a chance to foster stronger client partnerships but also an opportunity to nurture the next generation of account service professionals.

The position of Vice President, Head of Account Services, represents the latest in a series of growth-focused new roles being created at Motion. In 2024, Thea Rooks was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer while Terry Mertens took on new responsibilities as the agency’s first Executive Creative Director.
