More Cannes art; Digitas wins Pharma Grand Prix

AbelsonTaylor SVP/ECD Stephen Neale spent a week of nine-hour days judging global entries for the second annual two-day Cannes Lions Health Festival (June 19-20) and the opening event of the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.

The winners are being announced — and only US prize so far, was the Grand Prix award in the Pharma category won by DigitasLBi, for its “Take it from a Fish ” campaign for AstraZeneca.

It was selected from among 432 entries, down from 517 last year.

Discussion about the merits (or not) of the Cannes Lion logo resulted in Neale’s sketch in which he gives the logo a “Mane-Do.”

A couple more Cannes impressions are expected from the art director before he returns to his desk at the healthcare agency on Wednesday.

Neale’s sketches caught the eye of USA Today social media editors.  They found it so stylistically impressive that they tweeted @USA_CannesLions to their 1.6 million Twitter followers.
