Molly Gordon is the latest addition to the cast of FX’s breakout hit series The Bear which is set and filmed right here in Chicago. Just over a week ago it was announced that Chicago native, Bob Odenkirk joined the cast.

According to IMdb, Gordon will appear in all 10 of the episodes slated for Season 2, however, the name of her character is not yet listed.

Gordon is known for her roles in Ithaca, Sin City Saints, Life of the Party as Maddie, Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart as Triple A, and Good Boys. She also starred on the drama TV series Animal Kingdom as Nicky.

Raised in Los Angeles, Gordon’s parents are television and film director Bryan Gordon and film producer and screenwriter Jessie Nelson

Season 2 of The Bear has recently wrapped filming Season 2, with Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza ColónZayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Matty Matheson, Richard Esteras, Jose M. Cervantes and Abby Elliott.

The series was created by Christopher Storer, who also serves as executive producer alongside Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, and Nate Matteson of Super Frog and Josh Senior, with Tyson Bidner serving as producer and Matty Matheson as co-producer.

Season 1 follows the story of fine dining chef Carmy (White), who returns home to save his family’s failing Chicago sandwich shop, The Beef, in the wake of his brother’s suicide. It’s about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of sense of urgency and the steep slippery downsides. As Carmy fights to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family.

The series, cast, and crew of Season 1 raked in an impressive amount of wins during award season from Critics Choice, SAG, WGA, Producer’s Guild, AFI, Penna de Prata, American Cinema Editors, BFE Cut Above, Spirit Awards, and Golden Globes.

Season 2 makes the statement that, “It’s not a reopening. It’s a rebirth.” The 30-second Season 2 teaser revealed a melancholy tone as Carmy and the rest of the crew close The Beef and prepare to reopen as a new restaurant named The Bear.

With the opening of the new restaurant, Carmy and the crew “think they’re starting from a healthy place, but a restaurant, like a lot of other businesses, just creates the same amount of problems and the same amount of headaches every day,” says Storer. “So we see them have to step up in certain ways, in some ways regressing, but hopefully coming back together to open this thing by a very specific date.”
