As the season finale of Chicago Fire approaches, actress Miranda Rae Mayo, who plays Lieutenant Stella Kidd, has shared some tantalizing spoilers about what Chi-Hards can expect from the concluding episode.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Mayo provided insights into the emotional and action-packed finale titled Never Say Goodbye, which will pay tribute to a beloved character, Chief Boden, played by Eamonn Walker. “It is basically a love letter to our dear Chief Boden,” Mayo revealed. “He was the first, Eamonn Walker was the first character cast in Chicago Fire, in any of the Chicago universes.”

In the most recent episode, Kidd was notably absent as Firehouse 51 grappled with the loss of Truck 81. Through character dialogues, it was revealed that Kidd was in California, securing a replacement truck. Meanwhile, tensions escalated with Paramedic Chief Robinson following a report from Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) about her right-hand man Lennox nearly causing a fatal incident.

The absence of Chief Boden has created new dynamics within Firehouse 51, with various members stepping up to fill the leadership void. Unfortunately, the season finale is set to feature an “emotional farewell” to Boden, marking a significant shift for the show.

Mayo also hinted at an exciting rescue scene involving Boden, showcasing him in a new light. “We get to see him [Boden] in a rescue in a way we never have,” she teased. Additionally, the finale will reveal the secret of the new Truck member, firefighter Jack Damon, played by Michael Bradway. “The new member on Truck, we finally get to find out what his secret is. He’s been having secret conversations on a telephone, all right? Thinking that he’s keeping it low-key. No, we find out.”

The full interview, which also featured S. Epatha Merkerson from Chicago Med and Jason Beghe from Chicago P.D., offered fans a glimpse into the interconnected storylines and character developments across the One Chicago universe. Watch below:
