Mimi Productions wins a Telly for Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity

Mimi Productions wins a Silver Telly for Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity at the 2024 annual Telly awards. Mimi Productions produced the video Building Sustainable Futures in 2024. The win is in the category, Non-Broadcast, General, Fundraising & Appeals.

Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity helps raise awareness, supports capacity building, and provides resources to empower Habitat affiliates while they are on the ground making a difference in their local communities. Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity hosts an annual Habitat Hero Award Dinner where the yearly Hero Video premieres. Building Sustainable Futures is the second Habitat Hero Video that Mimi Productions has produced, and Mimi Productions is currently in production of the 2025 Habitat Hero Video.

The six minute video features Olimpia, a single mother with a profoundly disabled child, Uziel and his siblings Lluvia and Aniel. The family needed a universally designed home that adapts with Uziel as he grows up. In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, Olimpia has built a home to meet her children’s needs today and for years to come – because every family deserves a sustainable future.

Mimi Productions filmed the video over several days in the spring of 2024 and post-production took about a week.

“Mimi Productions is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring these important stories to life and more importantly to be a part of this stellar organization for the last three years. We are continuously humbled by the amazing work Habitat does, the remarkable sponsors and volunteers but most of all the deserving homeowners they help. Telling these transformational stories is why Mimi Productions does what we do. These stories truly touch your soul. My sincere thanks to the Telly Awards Judging Council for recognizing my team and the hard work and commitment of all those involved.” Michelle De Long, Producer/Editor of Building Sustainable Futures and President of Mimi Productions.
