Miller Lite turns broken gifts into Father’s Day Fix-Packs

Miller Lite

This Father’s Day, Miller Lite is giving dads exactly what they secretly want: something broken. Created by Leo Chicago, the brand’s new limited-edition Fix-Pack campaign flips the usual Father’s Day gift script by replacing mugs, ties and novelty golf gear with busted objects dads can repair with their adult kids.

The idea is rooted in a simple truth: plenty of dads would rather spend time fixing something than receive another predictable gift. According to the campaign, nearly 60% of dads say their ideal Father’s Day is simply spending time with their kids, while 51% of Americans say they turn to dad first for repair-related advice.

So Miller Lite built a gift around that insight.

Each Fix-Pack includes a one-of-a-kind broken item, branded with Miller Lite, designed for dads and their grown kids to fix together. Items include objects such as a beat-up vintage dartboard cabinet, a broken toolbox latch, a wobbly lawn chair, a busted guitar, a clock that does not tick and a cooler barely hanging on by a hinge. Once the repair is complete, the pack also includes a rebate to put toward a six-pack of Miller Lite.

“Dads have enough mugs and ties to last a lifetime — for Father’s Day, they just want quality time with their kids. And because they love to tinker, what better way to spend that time than fixing something together?” said Courtney Benedict, vice president of marketing, Miller Lite Family of Brands. “The Fix-Pack celebrates the dads who treat every crooked shelf and weird car noise like an opportunity to enlighten their kids with their handiwork, and we think those dads deserve a Miller Lite once the toolbox gets put away.”

The campaign taps into a familiar family dynamic: dad hears a rattle, spots a loose screw or notices something “not quite level,” and suddenly the day has a purpose.

For Leo Chicago, the Fix-Pack turns that behavior into a shared Father’s Day experience rather than another disposable gift. “As a dad, I can attest that the best Father’s Day gift isn’t a thing… it’s two hours elbow-deep fixing something broken with your kid and a cold Miller Lite waiting at the end,” said Dean Paradise, chief creative officer at Leo Chicago. “The Fix-Pack takes a real insight about dads, gifts and quality time and turns it into something useful that can actually be shared and experienced. That’s a real legendary moment.”

Each Fix-Pack arrives in custom Father’s Day packaging with a personalized gift message and simple instructions encouraging dads and their kids to spend time fixing the item together.

The limited-edition effort gives Miller Lite a playful seasonal platform while staying close to the brand’s long-running promise of celebrating everyday, low-key moments with friends and family.

In this case, the gift is technically broken. But the idea is pretty well built.
