Midwest Film Fest’s Advertising Community Night returns

The Midwest Film Festival is set to host its 9th Annual Advertising Community Night on September 25th at the Gene Siskel Film Center, sponsored by AICP.

This event promises an exciting evening celebrating the art of storytelling through a lineup of short films crafted by professionals from the advertising sector, including story-driven commercials, passion projects, and music videos.

Midwest Film Festival’s Executive Director, Erica Duffy, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “‘AdComm Night’ is something we look forward to every year. It always delivers. And after such a successful season, filled with sold-out shows and terrific conversations all throughout, we’re looking at another wonderful night to end with an ‘exclamation point’ on our 2023!”

The diverse selection of films featured includes:

  3. “GREEN EYES” by Joe Ramos
  4. “In Case of Adventure” by Hannah Welever
  5. “The Funeral Photographer” by Ashley Thompson
  6. “Exquisite Things” by Jessica Batson
  7. “For The Crib” by Lawrence Agyei
  8. “BLACK GIRLS SHRED” by Geno DiMaria & Kory Powell
  9. “Life After Her” by Daniel Mayúgba
  10. “EGZON” by Ryan Thomas

As these selected shorts span various mediums and subjects, attendees can anticipate an eclectic and unexpected cinematic experience. The event serves as a celebration of creative expression and offers a memorable evening filled with inspiration.

Event Coordinator Carlos Rogelio Diaz added, “Advertising Community Night is an artistic flex on the part of the filmmakers. One that takes audiences on a wild, joyous, emotional night.”

The event will start with a Networking Reception at 6:30 PM. At 7:30 PM, there will be a screening and a Filmmaker Q&A. An After Party will follow. General admission tickets are priced at $15 and Gene Siskel Film Center members can purchase tickets for $7.
