
Advertising Community Night will be returning to the Midwest Film Festival (MFF) and the special submission process for filmmakers in the advertising industry will be active via FilmFreeway. Lovingly referred to as AdComm Night, this staple of MFF has been the premier platform for celebrating the brilliance of the Midwest advertising industry.
This year, MFF is taking it to the next level – reviving their partnership with AICP Midwest to deliver a one-of-a-kind screening, submission process and exclusive industry event like never before.
MFF is putting the spotlight on the best work from ad agencies, production companies and independent creatives – from bold brand campaigns to innovative passion projects. Whether it’s a commercial, spec piece, music video, indie passion project or animation. MFF is calling on working professionals in the advertising industry to submit their best work completed within the last (2) two years with all necessary permissions obtained, by the involved creative parties, to have it screened.
The event itself will boast an opportunity for all in attendance to forge new relationships, connect with industry leaders, discover fresh talent and celebrate the creativity shaping the future of advertising. It will also open up the opportunity for the programmed advertising talent to compete for the NEW AdComm – AdCine Award (to be awarded at the Best of the Midwest Awards in November!) The AdCine Award will honor the intersection of advertising and cinematic storytelling, celebrating the most compelling, creative and technically outstanding work in commercial and independent filmmaking. Recognizing excellence in direction, cinematography, editing and overall impact, this award will highlight the artistry that transforms branded and creative content into unforgettable visual experiences. Presented at the Best of the Midwest Awards, the AdCine Award will be a tribute to the Midwest’s most innovative advertising visionaries.
AdComm Night Submission Screening Committee
The AdComm Night Submission Screening Committee, sponsored by AICP Midwest, is responsible for curating the best and most compelling advertising-driven content from across the Midwest. This seven-member panel, composed of industry professionals from diverse backgrounds, will review and select the final lineup for Midwest Film Festival’s 10th Annual Advertising Community Night and the BMA’s AdComm- AdCine Award to be announced in November at the annual Best of the Midwest Awards.

This spring, MFF will return for their 20th season at a new venue, the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center. As the festival continues to grow and stretch its legs under new leadership (now with NK Guttiérrez at the helm as MFF’s Executive Director,) some of their tried and true events and themed celebrations will be returning. This year’s AdComm Night is no exception and will be featured on July 28th, proudly sponsored in conjunction with AICP Midwest.
