Megan Vidis elected to lead Women in Film

Former Illinois Film Office deputy director Megan Vidis was elected president of the 200 member Women in Film and 13 women were elected to the board, at its annual meeting last week at the Rock Bottom Brewery.

Vidis is an experienced visual media producer who worked with political consultant David Axelrod. She currently heads Intus Communications, a full-service marketing and communications firm.

What Vidis will work towards, she said, “is an outreach to all types of creative content providers, so the organization reflects and serves the diversity of today’s rapidly changing communications industry.”

Vidis, who was unopposed, succeeds Melissa Thornley, executive producer at Beast Editorial. Terms is for one year.
