Here is a reason not to groan about it being Monday. It’s National French Fry-Day and McDonald’s is offering free fries to celebrate.
The golden arches are offering a free medium fries with no purchase necessary — today, July 13, in honor of National French Fry-Day. The offer will be honored at participating locations nationwide exclusively through the McDonald’s app.
So, how do you get ’em?

Just download the McDonald’s app — from there you can place a mobile order and pick up your order or you can scan the special deal code at the drive-through, kiosk, or in-store counter.
This offer is still applicable even if McDonald’s dining rooms aren’t open yet. The fast food giant recently announced delays in reopening sit-in dining due to a surge in coronavirus cases.

About 2,000 of the fast-food chain’s 14,000 U.S. locations had reopened sit-down dining services by mid-June, but recent climbing case numbers of the coronavirus have made executives at McDonald’s rethink their reopening strategy.
“Our resiliency will be tested again,” Joe Erlinger, McDonald’s U.S. President and Mark Salebra, the head of the National Franchisee Leadership Alliance said in an internal announcement. “COVID-19 cases are on the rise—with a 65 [percent] increase in infections over the last two weeks. In the last seven days, 32 states saw increasing cases and this number appears to be growing.”
Now, if McDonald’s fries aren’t your jam, these other fast food chains are offering fry deals as well:
- KFC is selling fries for 30 cents on Monday. Wait, KFC sells fries?! Yes. In case you missed it, KFC announced the permanent addition of its new “Secret Recipe Fries” to its national menu on July 9. Get ’em while they’re hot, with any purchase at a KFC.
- Smashburger is giving away a free side of fries with the purchase of any double burger on Monday only.
- Fatburger is giving away a free side of fries with a purchase of at least $20 through Postmates. The promotion starts on Monday and lasts through July 19, and customers can choose between skinny and fat fries.
