Mayor to address adbiz at July 26 CAF luncheon

Mayor Rahm Emanuel will meet the advertising community for the first time on July 26, when he tells how the ad industry will benefit from the city’s new long-term business initiations, at what surely will be a record crowd at the Chicago Ad Federation luncheon at the Hilton Chicago Hotel Grand Ballroom.

The title of the mayor’s speech is “Business Growth in Chicago and How It’s Impacting the Advertising Community,” in which he will underscore Chicago’s role as an influential and ground-breaking advertising hub and emphasize Chicago’s global leading edge in business innovation.

Emanuel is certainly the most important guest to address the CAF in recent years.  The connection with the mayor’s office was made by CAF board member Nina Abnee, Leo Burnett’s EVP/account management, according to CAF Director of Communications Chris Barry. “Having the mayor speak was the board’s idea, but Nina was the one who pulled it off,” he says.

The luncheon is part of the CAF’s quarterly Speakers Series.

The Hilton is at 720 S. Michigan; time, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $95 for members, $125 for non-members. Reserved seating for tables of 10.
