Lucky numbers for Daufenbach Camera

Almost a year after he started renting cameras in Logan Square, cinematographer Lawrence Daufenbach has expanded his business into a West Loop storefront at 1111 W. Randolph, an address that’s sure to bring him luck.

In addition to camera rentals, Daufenbach says the company is planning also “to dive into the 3D evolution and provide affordable solutions for 3D capture.”

The inventory consists of two Red cameras, plus all accessories including the exclusive Red Pro Prime lenses, Panasonic’s DVX and HVX and a much anticipated delivery of a pair of Canon 7Ds in June and the new $28,000 Red Epic in July.

The highly-touted new Arri Alexis is also on order for late summer delivery.

“We are also planning to dive into the 3D evolution and provide affordable 3D solutions. We’re presently testing 3D capture methods,” he says, and working on post flows with Hamzah Jamjoom of Digital Hydra, the DePaul cinema studies graduate who was featured as the host of the IMAX feature doc, “Arabia.”
