Loyola U’s Sister Jean “On a Mission from God”

It is incredibly rare in this world for loving, humble, and kind seniors working hard in education to get the media attention they deserve on an international scale.

Actually, for those seniors pushing 100, it is almost unheard of. That’s where the NCAA tournament and Loyola University Chicago’s journey to the Elite Eight comes in.

Media companies from ESPN to CBS to SB Nation to the New York Times have produced articles and videos about Loyola University Chicago’s Sister Jean … but they are not the first ones.

Members of the Loyola-Chicago community have known for decades how special a person she is. And Loyola’s communications and video departments have been eating her up for years.

As an alumnus, I want to say that I am one of the lucky ones who got to know her personally while filming a video about Loyola’s therapy dog, but the truth is, that is practically how all Loyola alumni and students feel.

She has the energy, charisma, and social skills to make every person she engages feel special… and she engages everyone.

If the recent splurge of major-news coverage of Sister Jean isn’t enough for you, enjoy some of the videos below that Loyola University Chicago and other organizations produced before her international stardom.
