(Chicago — 14 September 2018) JTwo recently teamed up with New York City-based non-profit organization Laureus USA to produce a mini documentary about Chicago’s Lost Boyz Inc., a non-profit organization committed to decreasing violence and improving the social and emotional conditions of the youth in Chicago’s South Shore community through baseball and softball.
The organization was founded by LaVonte Stewart, a lifelong South Side resident who uses team sports to provide a safe space where he can teach leadership and life lessons to neighborhood kids.

Having worked in the nonprofit sector for almost a decade under their Projects That Matter Initiative, JTWO understands the unique needs of companies like Lost Boyz Inc. They have helped share the stories of thousands of overlooked, underfunded narratives from around the world, embracing each story with a keen benevolence and empathy for humanity.
“It’s always our goal to unearth stories that help expose the reality of our world and showcase how brave people like LaVonte are making strides to change the narrative,” says project Executive Producer and head of JTWO’s Chicago studio, Conor Hare. “When I met with LaVonte he explained to me that gun and gang violence is second nature for his community. I knew, having worked on projects like this before, my team was the right group of people to bring his story to life, to do justice to both him and his community.”
The short film, which debuted at Laureus USA’s Sport for Good Fashion Show fundraiser this Wednesday at New York Fashion Week, reflects the true culture of South Shore. Focusing on Stewart’s journey, it moves from one child’s story to the next, explaining the distinct yet connected struggles and losses they have experienced growing up on the south side of Chicago, while highlighting how the sport of baseball has changed their lives.
Audiences come face to face with the danger and insecurity plaguing these childrens’ lives, but more importantly, they see the value of an organization like Lost Boyz Inc. To learn more please visit: jtwo.tv
