Local 727 Members join in the Fight Against COVID-19

Local 727 members joined in the fight against COVID-19 at the United Center, working to convert space in Parking Lot E outside of the arena into a mass COVID vaccination center.

Members assisted in the installation of a remote clinic set to serve the people of Chicago by distributing vaccinations beginning on March 9. Run by FEMA in a joint effort with other federal, state, and city/county agencies, these are additional vaccines and are not taken out of the City of Chicago’s allotment of vaccines.

This location has the capacity to vaccinate up to 6,000 people per day.

“Local 727 has a tradition of finding a way to say yes,” said John Coli, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727. “Local 727 members and staff know there is always something we can do and I am proud of the participation of our members in this historic venture. I look forward to the day when Tradeshow Teamsters have loaded out the vaccination center and are loading in the Auto Show, the Restaurant Show, Lollapalooza, and the return of concerts to Wrigley Field.”
