Lester Holt to moderate Town Hall with Joe Biden

NBC News’ Lester Holt will anchor a live town hall discussion with Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden from Miami on Monday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on NBC.

The one-hour primetime event will also air across MSNBC, CNBC, NBC News NOW and will be available in Spanish on Telemundo’s digital platforms.

“Decision 2020: Joe Biden Town Hall” will take place at Pérez Art Museum Miami in front of a socially-distanced audience of undecided Florida voters who will have the opportunity to ask Biden where he stands on critical issues.

The town hall will be held outside in accordance with guidelines set forth by health officials and will abide by state and local government regulations.

NBC News has also offered to host a similar town hall event with President Donald Trump.

Additionally, Holt hits the road next week for NBC Nightly News’ “Across America” series, beginning in Miami on Oct. 5. Four weeks out from Election Day and as the nation continues to grapple with a global pandemic, he will visit key battleground states, including Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Holt will take the pulse of voters on crucial issues, including jobs, the economy, health care, racial injustice and the government’s response to combating Covid-19.

NBC News began the 2020 presidential election cycle with the first Democratic primary debate from Miami and also hosted the most-watched Democratic presidential primary debate in history from Las Vegas in February, both co-moderated by Holt. He also previously anchored the first general election presidential debate in 2016, the most-watched debate in American history.
