Lawrence Lee Wallace adapts “Urban Scenze,” his live sketch comedy/music series, for DVD release

Lawrence Lee Wallace adapts his own long-running sketch comedy show “Urban Scenze” for the screen in his film directorial debut, out now on DVD from Victory Multimedia.

“It’s an absurd sketch comedy film that explores urban life,” Wallace said, “a comedic and hip interpretation of Chicago’s urban madness in all of the harshness and chaos of the big city.”

Wallace stars with original cast members Keesh Future, China L. Colston, and Adriohn Richardson (“Pimprov”), and newcomers Mael Cabarrus (“Hataw Pinoy”), Mark Davis, We’Lela Kindred and Sara McCool in a series of vignettes, many of them about couples taking relationship issues to ridiculous extremes.

Wallace produced through his Deep Productions and shot over a seven-month period. “The cast was very committed,” Wallace said.
