L.A. filmmaker moving to the area

HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER/DIRECTOR DALLAS JENKINS is moving to the Chicago area shortly as director of creative media for northwest suburban Harvest Bible Church.

“I’ll be in charge of the production of the services on the film campuses, as well as the videos and ultimately the films we produce,” he told the Reel exclusively.

Jenkins directed the feature “What If ?” which stars Kristy Swanson, Kevin Sorbo and John Katzenberger, which being prepped for release this summer.

Earlier, he was co-executive producer of “Though None Go with Me,” based on a book by his father, the mega-famous author Jerry B. Jenkins of the phenomenal “Left Behind” series, that aired on the Hallmark Channel.

Harvest Bible Church is one of the area’s largest churches, with 12,000 parishioners attending Sunday services at Harvest campuses in Rolling Meadows, Niles, Crystal Lake, Elgin and Wicker Park.

A more detailed announcement about Jenkins’ arrival is expected in a few weeks.

JAKE GYLLENHAAL LEADS THE CAST of “Source Code,” a thriller sci-fi movie that will be shooting three days of background plates here, while principal photography will take place in Montreal and Quebec.

Directed by Duncan Jones, the story is about a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
