KitchenAid, Tan France hold virtual Mother’s Day Brunch

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful moms out there. Are you missing your traditional brunch due to restaurants being closed? Well, smile. Yesterday, Queer Eye’s Tan France held a Mother’s Day Get-Together on KitchenAid Instagram Live (@KitchenAidUSA) with with Emmy-award winning TV personality Maria Menounos and NYT Bestselling cookbook author Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest.

The IG Live is part of a broader #MakeItTogether campaign that launched in mid-March in response to COVID-19 as millions of people were discovering the joy of cooking at home.

Event Highlights:

  • Original Recipes: Tan France demonstrated how to make Coconut French Toast (YUM!), including a cream topping using the KitchenAid Stand Mixer
  • Celebrating Mom: Maria Menounos revealed that she is having an extra special Mother’s Day with her mom, who has been fighting stage 4 brain cance. They recently got test results that her tumor has reduced to “a hint” and her mom has “defied all medical odds.” See the Strawberry Mom-a-Rita they made during the event here.
  • Baking in Quarantine: Influencer and NYT Bestselling Cookbook Author Tiegan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest and Tan France swapped baking stories (including these Cheddar Swirl Buns) and how more people are spending time cooking, encouraging people to #MakeItTogether
  • Toast to Mom: Tan shared a heartfelt toast to his mom at the end saying, “”You are the best mother I could have asked for, raising the four of us with love and kindness. To all the moms, thank you for everything you do – you have no idea how much we appreciate you.”
