Key Bush players reveal “The Road to War” in Towers’ National Geographic doc airing in August

Towers Productions uncovers the anatomy of the Iraq quagmire with “The Road to War,” premiering on National Geographic this August.

It features first-person accounts from key players within the Bush administration, the C.I.A. and Congress, showing the chain of events that led from the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attacks to the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.

“Bush was responsible for changing American foreign policy in this very significant way with the doctrine of preemption, and people within the administration were themselves coming to grips with this enormous change,” said Jonathan Towers, owner of Towers Productions and supervising producer of “The Road to War.”

“It’s fascinating to realize just how soon within days of Sept. 11 there was this active discussion about Iraq, where regardless of whether the terrorist attacks could be laid at Saddam’s door, this was nonetheless an opening to deal with a longstanding problem,” Towers said.
